Our charities

Following completion of our trip, the period during which donations could be taken has now expired. No more donations are being accepted and our grateful thanks go to all who sponsored us during our trip.

SUMMARY

Between us, we supported 3 charities during our cycle tour.  As the tour itself was entirely self-financed, ALL* money raised by us in respect of sponsorship or donations went to the charities noted below, apportioned according to sponsors' and donors' wishes or, where no preferences were expressed, money was divided between charities as determined appropriate by us.

* BT's mydonate site was chosen for on-line donations as it took no commission fees.  BT advise that the only charge against a donation was the credit/debit card charge which was typically 1.3% for credit cards or 15p for debit cards.

Elan's Charities

I supported two charities in fighting diseases which have affected members of my family. My nominated charities were Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer's Research UK.
Our tour raised just under £1200 for each of these charities.

Rob's Charity

Following the illness of a daughter of some very dear family friends, I raised funds to help the Children's Liver Disease Foundation in their fight to combat this cruel disease affecting the young and vulnerable.
Our tour raised just under £2400 for this charity.
